The UT Hockey team is very proud to announce the success of its second Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Game, held November 13th at Tam O’Shanter Ice Arena. For the second year in a row, the event’s tagline was “Help UT Hockey score a goal for CF!†and the team and its supporters did just that.
After the success of last year, when the team raised over $1600 for CF, it was decided that the bar should be raised even higher for this year’s event. Through the tireless efforts of event organizer Barb Phillips and the generosity of many supporters, the team was able to donate a total of $1740 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Besides helping out a great cause, the event also provided some great entertainment including an open skate, pizza dinner provided by Vito’s Pizza, countless raffles, and of course a UT Hockey game.
The UT Hockey team would like to sincerely thank all the local businesses that donated raffle prizes and/or supplies for the event. This extensive list includes:
Tam O’Shanter Ice Arena
Vito’s Pizza
Omni
University Barber Shop
Tim Horton’s
Star Diner
Kroger
Tireman
Frickers
Rudy’s Hot Dog
Dave’s Running Shop
Tony Packos
The team would also like to extend a big thank you to its generous fans and supporters. It is your generosity that made it possible for us to reach our goal and we truly thank you. This is an event that means a lot to our organization and it means even more to see so many of you support us.
And last, but certainly not least, the team would like to once again thank event organizer Barb Phillips. Even while battling CF herself, Barb continues to amaze us with her efforts and we could never put on this event without her. Thank you Barb for all you do.
For all of you that missed this year’s event and would like to donate, please feel free to check out Barb’s CF fundraising webpage at: http://www.cff.org/great_strides/BarbPhillips! Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to the day that your help allows to finally say CF stands for Cure Found.
