Toledo defeated Akron 8-4 behind Chris Eaton’s four goals and Ryan Sell’s two to move within a point of Pittsburgh for second place in the Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League.

The Rockets scored three goals in less than four minutes in the third period to overcome a 3-2 Akron lead and go up 5-3. The Zips closed to within 5-4, but the Rockets exploded for another three goals to secure the win.

Jindrich Knejfli and Scott Girardi also scored for Toledo. Frank Sterle scored twice for Akron. Teammates Shane Wheatley and Jerry Schmitt go the other Zip goals.
