The University of Toledo Hockey team is very proud to officially announce they will be taking part in this year’s Toledo Holiday Hockeyfest. After months of discussions with the planners of the annual event, everything is finally set for the Rockets to take on the Eagles of Eastern Michigan in an ACHA contest immediately before the Toledo Walleye play Saturday, December 29th at the Huntington Center located in downtown Toledo.
The Toledo Hockeyfest was started three years ago after a Clay High School hockey player named Kyle Cannon was paralyzed while playing in a high school game. Since then, Hockeyfest has been held to help raise funds for Kyle’s treatment and to raise awareness for the issues paralyzed individuals have to deal with on a daily basis. This event started with only one game between Clay High School and Anthony Wayne which drew over 4,000 people; an Ohio High School Athletic Association record. It has since grown to a two day event showcasing the many levels of hockey the Greater Toledo area has to offer.
The University of Toledo Hockey program is very proud to take part in this event and looks forward to contributing to the great cause associated with it. Portions of all ticket sales go directly to the KC3 Trust to benefit Kyle so please consider attending. Please click on the flyer at the right for information about how to purchase tickets as well as the full two-day line up.
If you would like to purchase tickets directly through the UT Hockey team or have any questions, Please contact UT General Manager Greg Urig (greglurig@yahoo.com or 440.225.6827)
SEE YOU AT THE RINK!
