The UT Hockey Program is very proud to host an annual series of College Prospects Camp for ALL players interested in playing college hockey.  This includes players already planning on attending the University of Toledo as well as those that are still undecided about where to continue their educational and hockey careers.  The main purpose of this camp is to provide all participants a chance to learn more about college hockey, the different levels of competition available, and the different paths a player can take to get to each of these levels.  These camps are also meant to showcase what the University of Toledo and our hockey program has to offer prospective student-athletes.

On the day of each camp, prospective student-athletes and their families are invited to take part in a guided walking tour of our campus.  After the walk around campus,  There will be a presentation by the UT Hockey Staff explaining what our program is all about and how it compares to the other types of college hockey available.  This presentation is concluded with a lengthy question and answer session to ensure no player or his family leaves with unanswered questions.

The players will then head to the Team Toledo Ice House to participate in the on-ice session of the camp.  For 2 hours, players will compete in a series of drills and scrimmages with other camp attendees and returning UT Hockey players.  This is a great opportunity for players to assess their abilities against the competition they could potentially see in the future.  This session also gives our staff an opportunity to evaluate players so we can provide feedback afterward.

The University of Toledo offers players the most reasonably priced, quality education in the area while also being a part of a competitive hockey program playing for national rankings.  We here at the University of Toledo Hockey program are very excited to share more about our team with you as well as help young players make the best possible decision when it comes to continuing their education and their hockey careers.  We sincerely hope you will consider joining us for this camp and help carry on part of the tradition that is UT HOCKEY!

Prospect Camp FAQ
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What are the College Prospect Camps?

The UT College Prospect Camps are meant to better educate and prepare potential collegiate hockey players.  It is our hope that through this camp, we are able to answer many of the questions young players have about playing higher level hockey, the University of Toledo, and college in general.  The camp allows players to see how they measure up against other prospective players and the camp schedule allows plenty of time for players to tour the university.  In addition, the camp gives our coaching staff the opportunity to meet and watch many players we would not otherwise be able to see, as well as those already interested in playing for the University of Toledo.

Who is the camp for?

These camps are for any player who is currently a junior in high school or older.  Whether you or interested in playing at the University of Toledo or not, if you are interested in playing hockey at the college level, this camp can help you.

Cost of the camp

$30

What is included in the cost of each camp?

The camp includes an on-ice session, a Toledo Hockey practice jersey, Toledo Hockey t-shirt, and a guided tour of the campus.

Hotel Accommodations

TBD

Campus Tours

We strongly encourage players thinking of enrolling at the university to participate in the campus tour set up specifically for camp attendees. However, if players would like a more personalized tour, maybe of a specific college, those tours can also be set up by:

1. Go to www.utoledo.edu

2. Select the Addmissions tab at the top of the screen

3. Then select Visit Campus to see the multiple tours and presentations available.

A campus tour is also highly recommended for players even if they do not think they want to attend the University of Toledo. Taking a tour will give a player something to compare to when touring other schools he is more interested in. Also, such tours often provide a great deal of information a player may not have already been aware of and may make a player think differently of the University of Toledo.

Is registration limited?

Yes.  To maintain the quality of each camp, we are limiting camp attendance to 24 players; 4 goalies and 20 skaters.  We feel this is an optimal number of players for this type of camp.  It allows us to host a maximum number of skaters and provide each with ample ice time to showcase their skills.  By limiting the number of players, we hope to avoid over-crowding on the ice and make it easier to address each player’s individual questions and concerns.

When will I be notified if I am one of the 24 who will be able to attend the camp?

Players will be notified as soon as their completed registration is received and processed.  At the latest, players will receive notification one week prior to their camp date.

If I’m not one of the 24 can I get my money back?

Yes, of course.  If the camp fills to capacity before we receive your registration we will let you know as soon as possible and provide a full refund.  Accepted players may also receive a full refund if they can not attend, but only if they notify the UT Hockey Team seven days before their camp date.
